How far in advance should I order my cake?

It depends on whether it’s a wedding cake or a celebration cake. A wedding cake should be ordered as soon as possible and giving at least 3 months notice as I get booked up very quickly.

Celebration cakes such as birthdays or christening can be done more quickly. A novelty cake involving a good deal of character work can take up to a month. A simple iced cake can be done in  a week. Please contact me for guidance.

What does a consultation involve?

Our consultations are held by appointment only, ( in order to give you the full attention you deserve), where you will be invited to  relax, take a look through our portfolio,  view a range of ‘Spectacular’ cake designs on show and taste our mouth watering cakes with a complimentary beverage.  We will collect information about;

How will it be delivered?

Most people collect their cakes. But if required I will deliver at set up your cake personally. There is a charge for delivery, which will depend on distance from my studio. Please contact me for more information.

Do your cakes contain Nuts?

We cannot guarantee our cakes are nut free. We can exclude nuts from recipes but there may be traces of nuts in the other ingredients used.

Do I need a "caterers cake" as well?

Yes, it can be really useful to have a pre-cut cake. I can provide you with an undecorated cake for use in the kitchen. It will be made to same delicious recipe as your “real” wedding cake.

Can you do me a specific design, or do I have to choose from a list?

I can do any design that you want, working from photos or your wedding theme/dress. I do have a large library of wedding cakes, to help inspire you.

Do you provide a stand for the cake?

Yes, for a small charge. (upto to £10.00 + refundable deposit)

Do I need a specialist to set up my wedding cake?

It depends on the style of cake. A stacked cake doesn’t need setting up, but a cake involving pillars or supports will. I can provide a setting up service if required.

Can I have a reference before ordering my wedding cake?

Yes of course, please call me for a list of references.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Yes. Usually a booking fee of £50.00 will secure the date. Then a 50% deposit will be required when I start work on the cake with the balance due 10 days before your wedding day.

What do you need to know from me?

Lots! The date and venue of the wedding. Your budget and ideas of style or theme are important, as are the number of guests. The best way for me to get this information is to meet you or talk on the phone so that I can create a beautiful cake for your wedding day.
